As Head of Engineering, I’m not actively involved in our consulting operations, but rather manage a suite of in-house products that our consultants use as part of their daily work.
Some of our products are aimed at automation: effectively removing as much of the mundane/boring stuff as possible so we can focus on executing our core tasks. Others are aimed at enhancing the quality of our output: probing deeper into the data to unearth subtle insights that may not immediately meet the eye.
In short, our homemade tech suite not only boosts productivity but also enhances the strategic insights we provide, giving our clients a competitive edge.
It’s quite a sophisticated set up. We use a lot of AI, speak to a bunch of third party APIs, and maintain consistent UI/UX though a far-reaching design system that spans various products. The productivity gains are well worth the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into the software though – to the point where it’s now hard to imagine Code & Co. operating without the aid of our in-house tools.
